The 28th edition of the Canada Games will take place in the Niagara Region from Saturday, August 6th to Sunday, August 21st, 2022. The Host Society for the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games is ultimately responsible and has final decision-making authority for all aspects of this event.  Since August 2021 we have made our concerns known to them, consistently and repeatedly. But it became clear, early in our discussions, and correspondence with Games officials and their partners, that we were provided with misleading and untruthful information, and as we continue to oppose their decision to build the racecourse in 12 Mile Creek, we do not expect this to change.

According to our inquiries, this organization is somehow exempt from public scrutiny using Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.  But we have been able to obtain FOI documents from the Niagara Escarpment Commission, Brock University and the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, and we will be making more such requests.

Our opposition and supporting statements are verifiable, but we need more concerned citizens to join us to stop the continued destruction of the 12 Mile Creek ravines.

We would encourage you to contact the following individuals and voice your opposition and be clear that you want all further construction stopped and that you want the damage that they have done to be repaired, and the area reinstated as it was before they destroyed it.
