Friends of Malcolmson Eco-Park

We appreciate you making us aware of the damage being created in the 12 Mile Creek Ravine near Riverview and Lockhart Dr., for the development of this mountain bike course for the 2022 Canada Summer Games. Since the course was already approved for a location near Brock university, It is incredible that the development is occurring in the sensitive greenbelt woods and ravine of 12 Mile Creek.

The Friends of Malcolmson Eco-Park are committed to protection and enhancement of native plants and wildlife in the remaining natural areas of Niagara, particularly at the 36 acre park that we care for, with the City. Few natural areas remain due to pressure for continued urban development, which is a loss to everyone living in Niagara.

The FOMEP support the 5 W goals of the Friends of Twelve Mile Creek, to stop the construction of this bike course in the 12 Mile Creek ravine and protect this sensitive ravine forest area, and . instead direct development of the bike course to the Brock University location .

Yours,

Friends of Malcolmson Eco-Park, FOMEP
